GeneSys installation Guide

GeneSys installation Guide

It is important to note that you, the user, are the one who we rely upon to help make sure that this installer and the project, itself, does what is necessary to give you a useful product. If there is anything that you think will improve this installer or will make using the project a more enjoyable experience, please do not hesitate to notify us with your recomendations. As I said to one of our users, constructive criticism is by definition a useful tool that we can use to improve our product. Enjoy the experience, that is why we created this project.

Following the download of the GeneSys package, you should extract the contents of the zip file to a blank folder and then run Setup.exe. The first screen displays a welcome message, the next screen will present you with some information about the licensing used by the GeneSys Project.

The second screen presents the license agreement. Press the Next button if you accept the license agreement.

A message box asks if the user agrees with the licensing conditions.

The only setting presented to the user is the installation path of the package. Customization is intended for experienced users only, so you are welcomed to choose the default installation directory, which is C:\GeneSys

After selecting the destination directory in the previous step, the installer will extract the contents of the package to a temporary folder. You do not need to know this directory and it will be deleted by the installer after it completes the install.

The final phase of the installation is the creation of the include files and the import libraries. All of this process is maintained by the installer. If the installation is successful, you should be able to read the notification message at the bottom of the page:

The package has been successfully installed. Enjoy!

Press the Finish button to terminate the installation.

Now that you know what to expect, we encourage you to proceed with the installation of the GeneSys Project. Once you have completed the install, you should browse to the Examples folder and examine some of the examples so you can see what is expected in terms of creating your own projects. If you experience any problems getting started, please don't hesitate to send us an email. We respond to questions very quickly. The only dumb question is the one that is left unasked, so ask away.

Paul and Erol.
